Cabot Band Students Achieve Highest Honor

January 11, 2015

January 11th, 2015

More than 140 Cabot band students recently achieved the highest honor, playing their way to the top spot.

Students from Cabot Junior High North, Cabot Junior High South and the Cabot Freshman Academy earned a chair in the Region IV All-Region Bands. The competition took place Saturday, December 6th.

Students will now participate in a two day All-Region clinic. That clinic will take place January 23rd and 24th at Searcy High School. A concert for parents and the public will end the two day event. It will be held at 2:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon, January 24th.

In order to earn a chair in the Region IV all-Region Bands, Cabot students competed with students who play the same instrument from area schools including Searcy, Beebe, West Memphis and Marion. A pre-designated number of students were selected from each instrument to be placed in the All-Region bands. This is one of the highest honors a band student can make regardless of age.

Just this weekend, Cabot High School band students competed in tryouts and 117 made the All-Region Band.

Congratulations to all of these band students!
