Panthers Shine at 6A State Championship

The Cabot High School Swim Team competed against thirteen other 6A teams at the State Championship. CHS had 17 qualifiers swimming in the meet.

The night saw two gold medal performances, both for school records: Rocco Overton beat the field in the 200 Freestyle, breaking his own school record for a PR time of 1:42.91. Overton, Caden Niece, Jacob Hertzog, and Joel Bailey touched out Bentonville at the finish to become state champions and set a new school record of 1:29.31.

Other top medalists include Brayden Howard 2nd in the 100 Breaststroke, Rocco Overton 2nd in the 50 Freestyle, Joel Bailey 5th in the 100 Freestyle and 6th in the 50 Freestyle, Jacob Hertzog 4th in the 100 Butterfly, the women’s relay (Kyndall Howard, Elizabeth Esteban, Jaz Beckham, Alyson Beason) got 5th in the 200 Freestyle Relay and 6th in the 400 Freestyle Relay, and the men’s relay (Bailey, Hertzog, Niece, Overton) got 3rd in the 400 Freestyle Relay.
