CHS AFJROTC Cadets Graduate From Leadership Course

June 23, 2017

Fourteen Cabot High School AFJROTC cadets participated in the 2017 Bossier Parrish Cadet Leadership Course.

This intensive 8-day course, held at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, promotes Americanism, the principles of good citizenship, and seeks to develop effective leaders during a high stress communal setting.

Each day began at 4:30 a.m., and included a variety of activities, such as physical fitness training, reville, drill, inspection, academic instruction in the principles of flight, goal setting, and orienteering. Field activities included water survival, orienteering, archery, rappelling, as well as obstacle and ropes courses. Each day concluded with recreational activities, a retreat ceremony, and a robust, if not musical, rendition of the Air Force song at 10 p.m.

Lt Col Doug Haven says he's proud of all his cadets for performing at a high level from the very start. Many cadets also earned awards in addition to their graduation certificates.

Congratulations to our CHS AFJROTC cadets. We are very proud of your hard work.
