January School Board Recognition 2025

February 5, 2025

It was a packed school board meeting as several of our amazing students, staff, and our very own dedicated school board members were recognized at the January meeting.

School Board Recognition Month

Cabot Public Schools is proud to honor our dedicated Cabot School Board members during Arkansas School Board Recognition Month.

January School Board Recognition

This month-long observance, which is held every January, is the perfect time to show our appreciation to our board members who volunteer their time to ensure the success of our students. It is also an excellent opportunity for the Cabot School District and the community to build a stronger understanding of the crucial role school boards play.

Our Ward Central Elementary Sprouts had the special honor of presenting at the January Cabot School Board Meeting in recognition of Arkansas School Board Recognition Month! The Sprouts, a dedicated group of 3rd and 4th graders who help care for their school garden, shared about their work growing fresh produce and spreading kindness throughout our school and community. As a token of appreciation, they presented our board members with hand-painted pots with basil and cilantro, each uniquely decorated with their fingerprints.

At Ward Central, the Sprouts take care of 12 raised garden beds and two hydroponic towers which allow students to grow a variety of vegetables and flowers, donate fresh produce to staff and families, and even contribute lettuce and sweet potatoes to the school cafeteria for everyone to enjoy! We are so proud of our Sprouts for their hard work, generosity, and passion for learning where food comes from!

Thank you to our Cabot School Board members for your dedication to our schools and students!
Just a little note, Mrs. Karen Davis kindly stood in for Cabot School Board Member Sarah Owen who was unable to attend.
