February School Board Recognition 2023

March 16, 2023

Several outstanding students were recognized at the February school board meeting.

National Merit Finalists

All five of our Cabot High School National Merit Semifinalists have now officially been named National Merit FINALISTS and they were recognized at the February Cabot School Board meeting.

Congratulations to Emma Martin, Nathan Thurman, Kellar Ringgold, Carly Madar, and Alexis Childs.

National Merit Finalists

The National Merit® Scholarship Program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships that began in 1955. High school students enter this program by taking the Preliminary SAT and by achieving a particular score on the exam.

There are around 1.5 million students that participate in this exam every year. Of those students, about 16,000, or 1% of the total graduating seniors, have scores which qualify them as Semifinalists.

District Spelling Bee Winners

Six of best spellers in the Cabot School District were also recognized at the February Cabot School Board meeting.

Jaidyn Tan, Kais Charaniya, Bryaden Howard, Sidney Chellbert, Dane Gray, and Alonso Rivera represented the district in the Lonoke County Spelling Bee.

Spelling Bee Winners

Kais Charniya won First Place in the county bee and competed in the Arkansas State Spelling Bee where he placed Fifth.

Jaidyn Tan won Third Place in the Lonoke County Spelling Bee.

Congratulations students!
