Mountain Springs Elementary Teacher “Kisses a Pig For Good Cause

October 30, 2014

Oct. 30th, 2014

Mountain Springs Elementary school wrapped up another successful Fall Festival this year. The event is sponsored by the PTO and is a great way for the school family to come together. Approximately 300 people attended.

One of the highlights included the “Kiss a Pig Contest.”  It was the first year for the event. The PTO made a pink pig for each teacher and students were allowed to bring in money for a week and donate to the pig of their favorite teacher.

First Grade Teacher Mrs. Geran was the lucky winner. She puckered up and everyone loved it as she “Kissed the Pig!”    The contest brought in about $600. In all, more than $2,500 was raised at the festival. The money will be used to buy additional playground equipment and large shade trees, as well as other instructional needs for students and teachers.

There were several other great activities at the fall festival.  They had great food, fun games, bounce houses, a silent auction and fall treats.

Mountain Springs K-Kids also drew caricatures to raise money for UNICEF.  Teachers and staff enjoyed spending time with students and their families.
