American Mathematics Competition Award to Cabot Student
June 11, 2014
Forty Cabot students (20 sophomores and 20 junior and seniors) were selected to participate in the American Mathematics Competition in February. Thousands of schools in every state and more than 350,000 students are presented with a set of questions designed to challenge their mathematical ability.
The purpose of the AMC program is to spur interest in mathematics and to develop talent through the excitement of solving challenging problems in a timed multiple-choice format. The problems range from the very easy to the extremely difficult.
Cabot sophomore Daniel McKinnie received the highest score for Cabot schools, but he also received the highest score in Arkansas!
Congratulations to Daniel for this outstanding achievement!
