Thea Visual Arts Competition Awards

January 20, 2014

The Thea Foundation was created to provide scholarship opportunities for students in the arts as well as support arts program throughout the state. For this year's visual arts competition, the students were asked to address the theme "It Breathes New Life."

Four students from Cabot High School won awards at the Thea Foundation Art Competition this past Saturday, January 18. From the more than 300 entries, 10 works were chosen from the senior entries and 10 from junior entries.

Cabot High School's two junior winners were Olivia Fredericks and Alena Russell. They will be awarded $100.

Cassidy Grummer won a $2,000 scholarship award for the piece she entered at the senior level. Chance Wallace received the 1st prize at the senior level for a $4,000 scholarship.

Each of our senior winners is eligible for additional scholarship from partnership schools as well.

The awards ceremony for this event will take place on Sunday, May 4. The art work from this competition will be on exhibit at the Thea Foundation in North Little Rock through that date.
