January 20, 2014

Cabot Public Schools and the Arkansas Children's Hospital Injury Prevention Program recently provided a safe Teen Driving 101 class for over 50 students and their parents.

Students and parents learned about the Graduated Driver's License Law and received tips for safe driving. Topics included teen driving accident and death statistics, as well as discussion about distracted driving.

Upon completion of the program, teens and parents were provided the resources to create a driving contract.

The speakers were Laura Taylor, Community Health Educator from the Central Region Hometown Health Initiative and Becky Lamb, Community Health Nurse Specialist from the Wilbur Mills Co-op.
