National French Contest

The National French Contest/Le Grand Concourse is an annual competition sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French. Students in grades 1-12 in all 50 states take a written test and compete against students with a similar educational background for prizes.

Six hundred and fifty-four (654) students in Arkansas participated in the contest that took place in March of 2013. Eighteen (18) CHS French students in levels II Pre-AP, III and IV AP participated in it.

The following students placed within the first 10 places in the State:

  • French IV AP: Joaly Gonzalez 1st place, Nicole Chiozzi 2nd place, Emily Riley 5th place, and Keri Haralson 9th place
  • French III: Anna Applegate 7th place and Jamie Middleton 10th place.
