On Friday, January 25th, 4th grade students enrolled in the Cabot Public Schools Gifted and Talented Program participated in the annual district Quiz Bowl tournament at First Baptist Church in Cabot. Sixty-two 4th grade students took part in the academic competition. A total of sixteen teams, each coached by a Cabot High School student, was comprised of the district's 4th graders, and students attempted to best one another's knowledge in areas such as math, science, vocabulary, spelling, literature, trivia, sports, and geography.
Members of the first place team, coached by Hannah Holetz, included team captain Simon Reid, Adam Sicard, Sophie Rushing, and Harrison Merrick. The second place team, coached by Jamie Middleton, included team captain Ben Saddler, Ally Smith, Bailey Stamper, and Brock Williams. Jordan Thomas coached the third place team: team captain Kensley Flynn, Kamden Kuykendall, Tate Singleton, and Whitney Hazeslip.
The G/T Program would like to say a special thank you to First Baptist Church for their hospitality and all parents, families, community members, administrators and district employees who were in attendance Friday.
