Cabot Public Schools uses a telephone communication system to alert families of weather-related school closing days in the winter.
The mass communication system allows the School District to notify families individually by telephone when school has been canceled due to bad weather.
When school is closed, the system will call the households of all students with this weather closing information. When a decision is made in the evening, we try and notify families by 10 p.m. When a decision is made in the morning, we try and notify families by 6 a.m. (which means families could receive a call as early as 5:15 a.m.) Our goal is to accommodate the many students and families that leave home early.
Information about school closings is also posted prominently near the top of the CPS website. In addition, the closing is announced on local television stations.
