CPS Teacher of the Year Named Top 15 Finalist for AR Teacher of the Year

August 7, 2019

Congratulations to our very own Cabot Public Schools Teacher of the Year, Lindsey Duncan, for being selected as one of the Top 15 regional finalists for the 2020 Arkansas Teacher of the Year!

Mrs. Duncan teaches fourth-grade literacy at Southside Elementary. At the end-of-year district meeting in May, she was recognized as the Southside Elementary Teacher of the Year, Elementary Teacher of the Year, and was then named Cabot Public Schools Teacher of the Year.

Recently, Mrs. Duncan was invited to the Arkansas Governor's Mansion for the 2020 Arkansas Teacher of the Year Regional Finalists Reception where she was recognized by Governor Asa Hutchinson and Arkansas Board of Education Commissioner Johnny Key. Out of the estimated 30-thousand public school teachers in Arkansas, Mrs. Duncan was recognized as a Top 15 Finalist for Arkansas Teacher of the Year. She also received $1,000 thanks to the Walton Family Foundation.

Mrs. Duncan is beginning her 11th year teaching and her fifth year at Southside Elementary. We are extremely proud of Mrs. Duncan for her commitment as an educator and her love for students. Congratulations Mrs. Duncan on your outstanding accomplishment!
