CHS Students Win Big At AR State Thespians Competition
February 11, 2019
It was a great weekend for several of our Cabot High School Theatre and Stagecraft students. The Arkansas State Thespians Festival was recently held at Russellville High School and several of our juniors and seniors walked away with top honors.
The Arkansas State Thespian Society is dedicated to serving 7-12 grade students in educational theatre programs. Students from all across the state compete in individual and group events. If the student receives a superior rating, they qualify for the national competition in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Congratulations to these talented students:
*Senior, CHS Stagecraft student, Mary Lilly received a superior rating (highest rating you can receive), and won "Best of Show" for Stage Management. She competed against 14 other students across the state, and won first place. She also qualified for Nationals.
*Junior, CHS Stagecraft student, Brynlee Beams, received a superior rating in Scenic Design, and qualified for Nationals.
*Senior, CHS Stagecraft student, Carson Reaves, received a superior rating in Costume Construction, and qualified for Nationals.

Out of the 16 students in attendance, seven qualified for Nationals. Juniors and seniors were also offered a total of $123,900 in scholarships to attend several different colleges! Students had to audition, interview, and receive a call back for the opportunity to receive a scholarship.
Congratulations again to our CHS Theatre and Stagecraft students and their dedicated teachers!
