CHS Students Recognized at Kiwanis Honors Banquet 2018
April 27, 2018
It was a great night for many Cabot High School seniors as they were recognized by the Cabot Kiwanis Club at its annual Honors Banquet.
The banquet was held in the Cabot Junior High North cafeteria.

Arkansas State University Chancellor Kelly Damphousse served as guest speaker. Chancellor Damphousse shared his story of struggle and success inspiring students to never give up. He also asked students to think of five people who helped shaped their life path and to thank them for making a difference.
Seniors who have maintained a 3.5 grade point average or higher were recognized and several scholarships were awarded at the banquet. Two scholarships are given in memory of past presidents, Gail Carpenter and Mike Flowers, one given in memory of Lane Whitaker, past present of the Cabot Key Club, and one in honor of Jim and Maxine Thompson for their on-going and faithful service to the Cabot Kiwanis Club and community.
Congratulations to the following:

Meghan McClain – Lane Whitaker Scholarship - $1,000

Mary Fuhrman – Mike Flowers Scholarship - $1,000

Annie Burt – Jim and Maxine Thompson Scholarship - $1,000

Aleigha Smith – Gail Carpenter Scholarship - $1,000

Madison Stocks – Earl Collins Scholarship - $1,000

Alana Baxter – The Mark and Liz Bartels Scholarship - $1,000

A special group of students also worked hard to present a senior with a scholarship. The Magness Creek K-Kids raised money through fundraisers. At the banquet, they presented senior Britney McGloflin with a $1,000 scholarship.
Thank you to the Cabot Kiwanis Club and K-Kids for supporting our students. Also, thank you to the CHS National Honor Society and Key Club for serving the meals and Kiwanis members for helping with dinner as well.
Lots of fun tonight, sharing with @cabotsd seniors at the annual Kiwanis banquet in Cabot. They learned how awesome I was at being a prison guard and a mall cop. Many of them will attend A-State in the fall (or at least that was their intent before I spoke). #Forward
