2017 Middle School PRiDE Celebrations

April 28, 2017

Cabot Middle School South and Cabot Middle School North 5th grade students recently celebrated their successful completion of the “Refuse to Use” Panther Resisting Drugs Education (PRiDE) Program.

The drug resistance curriculum educates students about the damaging effects of drugs and substance abuse. It also helps equip students with the needed refusal skills to fight peer pressure.

The celebration took place Friday, April 21st, in the Cabot High School Fine Arts Auditorium.  Cabot Mayor Bill Cypert, Cabot Police Chief Jackie Davis, Assistant Chief Danny Clem, Lt. Robert Gibson, Ward Mayor Art Brooke, and Lonoke County Sheriff Deputy Brett Collins attended the event. The sheriff's office also provided a K-9 demonstration with Deputy Mike Moore and K-9 Onkia and Deputy Tyler Barber and K-9 Pajti.

Cabot Junior High forensics students presented a reader's theatre performance about the dangers of drugs. THV 11's Craig O'Neill emceed and Mickey Spillane provided music and entertainment.

Freshman Academy School Resource Officer Sergeant John Dodd also spoke to the students. He works closely with our kids and the PRiDE Program. Thank you Sergeant Dodd for your hard work and dedication to our students.

Congratulations students and remember to "Refuse to Use" everyday!
