Magness Creek Finishes 8th In National Math Contest
May 16, 2016
Fourth grade students at Magness Creek Elementary have accomplished an amazing feat! Students have been participating in the National Sumdog Contest. Sumdog is a math fluency online game.
Almost 3,000 classes across the nation have been participating and students at Magness Creek finished in 8th place!

Before the national contest, students participated in the Central Arkansas Sumdog Math Contest.
Each child is given 1,000 questions to answer within a certain amount of days. There is a daily winner and an overall winner.
Mrs. Coats entered her two math classes and they not only won one out of the five days of competition, they won the entire Central Arkansas Contest! There were 94 classes registered and more than 1,000 students participating.
Mrs. Coats also had the top student in the competition answering 976 correct questions out of 1,000. Another student tied for 4th place. They did so well, that's why Mrs. Coats along with Mrs. Berberian's math classes decided to enter the national contest.
Congratulations to Mrs. Coats' and Mrs. Berberian's classes and all the fourth graders at Magness Creek Elementary.
