Panther PRiDE Celebration 2016

Hundreds of Cabot Middle School students were treated to a celebration Friday! It was all part of the 2016 PRiDE Celebration.
Cabot Middle School North and Cabot Middle School South 5th graders celebrated the successful completion of the Panther Resisting Drugs Education Program.
The drug resistance curriculum educates students about the damaging effects of drugs and substance abuse. It also helps equip students with the needed refusal skills to fight peer pressure.
The celebration took place May 13th in the CHS Fine Arts Auditorium. Several Cabot School Board members attended including Donna Nash, Sarah Owen, and Corey Williams. Cabot Mayor Bill Cypert, Cabot Police Chief Jackie Davis, Austin Police Chief Jim Kulesa, as well as several members of the Lonoke County Sheriff's Office showed their support.
Deputies also provided a K-9 demonstration with drug dog, Officer Pajti.
Cabot Junior High forensics students also presented a reader's theatre performance. THV 11's Craig O'Neill emceed and Mickey Spillane provided music and entertainment.
Freshman Academy School Resource Officer, Sergeant John Dodd was also presented a plaque for all his hard work and dedication to students and the PRiDE program.
