Power Panthers — Feb. 12th
February 18, 2016

Fifty “Power Panthers” captured the spotlight at last Friday's basketball game. The students were recognized for their outstanding work in and out of the classroom.
“Power Panthers” is a student recognition program sponsored by the Cabot Panther Foundation and the Cabot School District. The program honors students in the third through sixth grades who have demonstrated the power and motivation to improve or excel in academics, behavior or citizenship.
Students who received this honor were nominated by a building administrator or staff member. Every Power Panther received tickets to attend the basketball game, a Power Panther t-shirt, and coupons for the concession stand.
Prior to being recognized on the court, students gathered in the auditorium to hear from some district leaders. Supt. Dr. Thurman welcomed the students and their parents. Student soccer athlete Hadley Dickinson and Coach Keith Watkins spoke to the “Power Panthers” about working hard to achieve their goals. Steve Jackson, president of the Cabot Panther Foundation, also spoke to the students.
