National College Signing Day: Three Senior Football Players Sign Letters of Intent

February 3, 2016

Friends and family packed Cabot High School for National Signing Day to watch three seniors sign with Arkansas colleges.

Holdyn Barnes, along with his mother Gretchen, was first to sign his letter of intent to play football at Southern Arkansas University in the fall. Holdyn has been playing football his entire life. He's been playing at Cabot since 8th grade. Holdyn plans on continuing his education in the athletic field, pursuing either coaching or athletic training.

Next up was Peyton Glisson. Alongside his parents Gary and Suzanne, he chose to attend the University of Arkansas at Monticello playing football in the fall. Peyton has been playing football since a young age. Peyton plans to earn a degree in History and Political Science and looks forward to going into coaching.

Christopher Austin Jones closed the signings with his letter of intent to play football at Lyon College. His parents, Chris and Angelia, were by his side along with family and friends in the crowd. Austin plans to study Physiology and Spanish with hopes of a career in Law Enforcement after college. A motto Austin lives by is "Never let anyone tell you you can't do something."  He says there will always be obstacles in the way but never let that stop you from doing your best and accomplishing what you want.

Congratulations Holdyn, Peyton and Austin!
