Five Cabot Schools Receive $10,000 In Grants
December 11, 2015

Five Cabot schools have received a total of $10,000 to help more students and families in need.
Central, Eastside, Northside, Southside and Stagecoach Elementary schools all recently received $2,000 from ISEP (Innovative Solutions for Educational Partnerships.)
At Central, the ISEP grant money will be used to purchase clothing and hygiene products for families in need. Central has designated a health and wellness room in their building to serve as a food pantry, clothing, and hygiene product resource room for families that need assistance.
The money awarded to Eastside Elementary will help with the Backpack Buddy Program, which provides meals to families in need of additional food assistance, as well as healthy snacks at school for students. The grant will also help purchase weather appropriate clothing, shoes, jackets, and basic hygiene products for students that are without these necessities.
At Northside Elementary, the $2,000 grant will be used to purchase permanent soccer goals on the 2nd-4th grade playground.
Southside Elementary plans to use their grant to place “Boo Boo Boxes” in every classroom. The boxes will contain basic medical supplies so each teacher can quickly use them in their classroom to help students. The remaining money will be spent on extra supplies to refill the boxes and fulfill student needs such as food and clothing.
The funds at Stagecoach Elementary will be used to purchase snacks for students, as well as provide food to go home in backpacks on Fridays. Personal hygiene items will also be purchased along with clothing items to help to make sure students are dressed appropriately during the winter months.
