On the left click on the Arkansas Better Chance Program then on ABC Program Forms & Documents. Scroll down to Financial Documents and you will see 2026-27 Federal Poverty Level & Sliding Fee Scale. - Based on your income, you may qualify for the full grant where you pay nothing for your child to attend our program, or you may qualify for a partial grant that covers a percentage of your weekly tuition. The amount you would pay ranges from $27/week to $110/week. Once you upload your financial documents, this can be figured for you and we will let you know if you qualify for grant funding or not.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Is transportation provided?
No, transportation is not provided to/from either Pre-K Building. All students must be dropped off and picked up.
Can my child still qualify for free/reduced lunch?
Yes, you will need to complete the application for free/reduced lunch. The link to this application can be found on the CPS website.
Can I request a specific teacher for my child?
You may request a teacher for your child by emailing suzie.kelley@cps.k12.ar.us.
Requests will be taken into consideration when placing students in classes but are not guaranteed.
If my child has an IEP/receives therapy, will that IEP be followed and therapies provided?
Cabot Pre-K partners with Wilbur D. Mills Education Service Cooperative (WDMESC) to provide students the services stated on an IEP.
The coop will take a current IEP and after reviewing it, they will decide if they can accept that IEP as written or if they need to do further testing of their own in order to provide the services.
The number of minutes a child receives may differ for our program than what the child is currently receiving because we are considered an educational setting and there are limits to the number of minutes that a child can be removed from the general education classroom.
As the parent, you can choose to keep your child in therapy where they are currently rather than allow the coop to provide services.
All of our services are provided during school hours (8:00-2:30)
Does my child have to be potty trained to attend Cabot Pre-K?
Students are expected to be potty trained when they enter our program. If the child is not completely potty trained, they are expected to be able to use the potty and wipe/clean themselves independently. We will support them with reminders , a potty schedule if needed, reward system, etc.
Our staff can not change or clean a student. Pull-ups are permitted for use during nap time if your child is still having accidents while sleeping. Parents must provide the pull-ups and wipes. If your child has an accident and is unable to clean themselves, the parent must be available to come to school to assist the child.
What happens if all slots are filled before I am able to get my application completed?
Once all slots are filled, we will begin a waitlist.
If any student does not show or has to drop from our program at any time during the school year, we will then pull from the waitlist in the order that applications were completed.
How do I know if my child is zoned for PK North or PK South?
Placement is based on where you live.
If you know where your child would attend middle school or jr. high, that is the PK site they are zoned for.
Ex. If your child would attend Middle School South, they will attend PK South.
Do you have an after school program for pre-k students?
Currently we do not have an after school program but we are working on getting one for the 2026-27 school year. As soon as that is decided, information will be pushed out on the PK tab on the CPS website.
Why is it important to complete the online application and upload all required documents?
A student can not be placed in our program until ALL documents are uploaded and the application is submitted.
We do typically fill up and have a waitlist at the beginning of the year so the quicker you get the application process completed, the better your chances are of getting a spot in our program.
What will happen after I complete the online application and get my documents uploaded?
You will receive an email to the address that you put on the application. This email will tell you what your next steps are.
When will I know if my child has been accepted into the program?
Acceptance and waitlist letters will be sent out via email at the end of May.
You will not receive an email if we have missing documents. All required documents must be uploaded or brought to us before we can place a child in our program.
Please check the email address that you provided to us regularly. Check spam as well.
