Cabot Country Cruisers
WOW! The Cabot Country Cruisers delivered a wonderful gift to the Cabot School District tonight! At the Cabot School Board meeting, they presented the district with a $13,000, their largest donation to date!
Five-thousand-dollars will be used to purchase equipment and curriculum for our physical education programs, $2,000 will be awarded to two CHS track seniors for scholarships, and $6,000 will go to Cabot Family Track Nights!
We are grateful for our partnership with this amazing running group. The Cruisers were able to raise this money through their "Spring Fling 5K" that they host every year!

Mrs. Benson and her team work hard at planning vertically across the grade levels creating curriculum that teaches the essential standards and skills each student will need to be successful in the next grade level through graduation. She loves all of her students fiercely and holds them to the highest of expectations. She not only believes that each student can be successful, she gives them the tools they need to believe in themselves. Mrs. Benson also uses real-world curriculum to teach her students. She recently was awarded a grant that will allow her and her students to build bat houses and a butterfly garden.
Toni Schiesz, Cabot Learning Academy
Ms. Schiesz teaches the 7th through 9th grade classroom at CLA. She believes that teachers get better as they learn from each other and collaborate with each other. Ms. Schiesz vertically plans with the other secondary teacher at CLA, and they plan not only to meet the academic needs of their students, but they use project-based learning to keep students engaged. The secondary classes are working to build a school garden as well as learning about food safety and other life-skills they will need when they graduate. Ms. Schiesz loves her students and teaches them that anything worth having is worth working for, and that they can all do hard things.
