Cabot South Lady Panthers - 2024 CAJHC Tournament Champions

February 16, 2024

Cabot Junior High hasn't won a conference title since 2013 but that all changed on February 14th!

For the past three years, members of the 9th grade Cabot South girls' basketball team have played together. In fact, these Lady Panthers finished their 7th grade basketball season 15-0! Winning the championship was a goal they set at the beginning of the year. Through hard work and perseverance, they achieved that goal!

Cabot South girls' completed a conference sweep in the Central Arkansas Junior High Conference Championship game with a 34-29 win over Conway Blue and ultimately claimed the title of 2024 CAJH Conference Tournament Champions!

The Lady Panthers (15-9) played every team in their conference twice during the regular season and knew it would be a challenge going into the tournament. Cabot South went into the conference tournament as the #5 seed and their first game was against Lake Hamilton. They defeated the Wolves 32-24 advancing them to the semi-finals against North Little Rock. After a back and forth game among both teams, the Lady Panthers ultimately succeeded and won 35-33!

The final game was against Conway Blue.  Going into the game Cabot had already lost to them twice during their regular season, so they were determined to finish this tournament with a win. Cabot defeated them 34-29 in an electric game at Benton Arena!

Congratulations again to Cabot South on being the 2024 CAJH Conference Tournament Champions!
