May 30, 2023
Two Cabot School District schools have been named Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase Schools®. Cabot Middle School South and Mountain Springs Elementary were among 468 schools across the United States to earn this honor for the 2022-2023 school year.
The Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase Schools® Award recognizes and celebrates schools producing exemplary outcomes using the Capturing Kids’ Hearts® Process. Award winners demonstrate a high level of performance and a positive culture and climate for learning.
Because of the rigor of our evaluation process, the Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase Schools® Award is both a high aspiration and an exemplary recognition of excellence. Capturing Kids’ Hearts® is proud to recognize the outstanding educators who have dedicated themselves to making a difference in the lives of our children.
“The Capturing Kids' Hearts Program is vital to the positive and inclusion culture we are creating at Cabot Middle School South,” explains Principal Matt Sheets. "Students are empowered to take ownership of their own behaviors and interactions with peers and adults, while our Staffulty can all use the same common language in holding students and each other accountable for a high level of excellence. When we all have a voice, and speak the same language, the sky's the limit."
This is the fourth year for Cabot Middle School South and the second time they have been recognized as a Capturing Kids' Hearts National Showcase School.
This is the second year for Mountain Springs to implement Capturing Kids Hearts and their first to be recognized as a Capturing Kids' Hearts National Showcase School!
“Our staff has made it a priority to implement the Capturing Kids' Hearts program to the fullest in our school!" explains Mountain Springs Principal Connie Reed. "It is so important for us to create an environment at Mountain Springs Elementary where students feel safe, connected, and eager to learn. This award means so much to our staff because it shows us that our level of implementing the CKH model was recognized not only by our students and parents, but the Capturing Kids’ Hearts organization and their expectations for the program!”
All nine of the Cabot School District’s elementary schools and both middle schools have implemented the Capturing Kids' Hearts program.
