Mud Olympics 2015

June 5, 2015

It's been a great school year and it ended with a huge splash!

On Thursday, hundreds of Cabot school employees headed to the field next to Cabot Junior High North to take part in the first ever Mud Olympics.

Fourteen teams braved the mud and the muck to compete in several events including, the dizzy bat race, wheelbarrow race and tug-of-war.

In the end, Cabot Junior High North emerged as winners of Mud Olympics and walked away with medals.

Specials thanks to Ronnie Abshure with R. Abshure Farms in Austin for donating his time and equipment to digging out the 60x60 mud pit for the games. It took close to two days to complete.

We'd also like to thank DJ Mickey Spillane for providing music and entertainment, as well as Food Services for providing hot dogs, hamburgers, chips and drinks to staff and family, custodial and maintenance for setting up and cleaning up.

A very big thank you also goes out to Kelly Spencer and her Wellness Team for organizing a wonderful and memorable Mud Olympics.

Congratulations to all the teams, everyone did an outstanding job and had a great time!
