History comes to life at Cabot Middle School South

May 22, 2015

History came to life at Cabot Middle School South this week. Hundreds of 5th graders experienced Civil War Day.

From clothing, medicine to demonstrating the types of weapons used, historians visited with students and reenacted what life was like during the Civil War.

Kent Goff with the Mississippi Valley Reenactors presented marching and a first person narrative of an Arkansas soldier. Daniel Cockrell from the Old State House discussed Civil War medicine and Georganne Sisco visited with kids about ladies clothing and accessories. Leah Lambert discussed spies and codes.

Civil War Day gave students the opportunity to learn about an important part of American history.
