Dozens of students and staff across the district were recognized at May's school board meeting. The meeting was held May 19th, 2015.
Bowling State Champions
The boys and girls bowling teams were honored for winning the state championships. Both teams have won four conference titles. This is the boys fourth straight state title and this is the fourth state title for the girls since 2009. The senior class also won eight conference titles, six state titles and also state runner-up twice!
Zac Couch was voted the Wendy's Male Bowler of the Year. This is the second year for the award and last year, Cabot bowler Cayden Cook won the award.
The Cabot Bowling program has been in place for eight years. There are more than 70 high schools with bowling teams. Congratulations Cabot Bowlers!

Child Safety Poster Contest Winners
Four Cabot elementary students were selected winners in the 2015 Child Safety Poster Contest. The contest is sponsored by the Attorney General's Office.
There were a record number of participants with 1,171 entries from students across the state and Cabot elementary students from Stagecoach Elementary, Eastside Elementary and Magness Creek Elementary Schools all took home top spots.
The winning entries were displayed recently at an award's reception at the Thea Foundation. This year's theme was “Bring Our Missing Children Home.” Congratulations Winners!

Keep Cabot Beautiful Poster Contest Winners
Five Cabot students have taken home the top prizes in the “Keep Cabot Beautiful” poster contest. The contest is designed to promote increased community awareness for the need to step up efforts in litter prevention, the dangers of illegal dumping, planting flowers and trees, and instilling a sense of community and individual responsibility.
The poster contest is sponsored by Cabot City Beautiful, Inc. Schools were encouraged to involve students in grade K-4th. Congratulations to all the winners!

Apex Learning Award of Excellence
The Academic Center of Excellence has been selected as a recipient of the 2015 Apex Learning Award of Excellence.
The Apex Learning Award of Excellence recognizes innovative schools and districts across the country for excellence in implemented blended and virtual learning programs that result in higher student achievement.
As one of six recipients of this award, ACE will be honored at a regional Blended Learning Conference during the 2015-2016 school year. Congratulations ACE!
