The Kiwanis Club of Cabot hosted its annual Honors Banquet on Thursday, April 26, 2012.

The club President Mickey D. “Stubby” Stumbaugh opened the program, welcoming the students and guests to the banquet.  A total of 236 junior and senior students, who attained a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher were invited to the banquet with their parents, guardians and grandparents.

Over 300 people were present for this event.  Dr. Tony Thurman introduced Steve Roberts as the guest speaker.    Following the inspirational speech by Athletic Director Roberts, special achievement certificates were presented to the honor students present.

Following presentation of the achievement certificates, the Kiwanis Club presented its annual scholarships to three students of the graduating class.  The Layne Whitaker Memorial Scholarship, in honor of past Key Club President Layne Whitaker, was presented to Robby Chaney, 2012 President of the Cabot High School Key Club.  The Gail Carpenter Scholarship and the Mike Flowers Scholarship were presented to Alexandrea Golden and Brooke Ashley Macklin.
