The Cabot Freshman hosted their first annual College & Career Fair to eight hundred ninth grade students. Over sixty business professionals spoke about their careers and how they reached those positions. The speakers gave students background in the education, skills and training required for their job as well as how their career choice has impacted their family and lifestyle.
Before the Career Fair took place, students filled out questionnaires on fields that interested them from Business, Banking, Construction, Cosmetologist, Insurance, Medical, etc. and they were placed in the rooms with speakers that met their desired interest.
Students were also able to visit with colleges and universities to help them prepare for life outside of high school. More than 20 institutes visited with students and provided information on programs of study, admission requirements, tuition/financial aid, campus life, etc.
