January 2015 School Board Recognition

It was a big night Tuesday as students, teachers and school board members were all recognized at January's school board meeting.

National Board Certified Teachers

Eleven Cabot teachers were recognized for their hard work and dedication after achieving their National Board Certification.

The founding mission of the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards is to advance the quality of teaching and learning. Cabot Public Schools now has 83 National Board Certified Teachers.

Spelling Bee Winners

The boardroom was buzzing as our district spelling bee winners were introduced to the crowd. Six Cabot students will represent the district at the Lonoke County Spelling Bee on Monday, January 26th in Carlisle.

Four of the six winners were able to make it to the meeting Tuesday night and they challenged board members to a spell off. It was close but the students pulled off the win!

School Board Recognition Month

The Arkansas State Board of Education has approved a resolution proclaiming January as Arkansas School Board Member Recognition Month. The month-long observance is an opportunity for the Cabot School District and community to build a stronger understanding of the crucial role school boards play.

The Cabot School Board consists of seven outstanding community leaders.
