More than 700 students at the Cabot Freshman Academy had the opportunity to visit a four year college this week and see what it's like to be on a college campus.
As part of the Freshman Academy's Keystone Program they toured the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. The new course asks students to discover who they are, what they want to be and how they would like to get there. Throughout the course, students are challenged to relate options to career goals and identify options for post-secondary opportunities. Students were able to identify those options first handed as they toured the UCA campus.
During the visit, students received an informative visitor's guide during the trip that covered financial aid and various degree programs. The students also had a question answer session with college advisers who highlighted the importance of their High School grade point average and ACT scores.
Finally, the students toured the campus with an ambassador and were able to ask specific questions. Students returned to campus with a better understanding of creating a possible pathway toward their career goals.
Thank you to the University of Central Arkansas for allowing our students to tour your campus and learn about possibilities after graduation.
