Gifted & Talented Program Receives Distinguished Award
February 17, 2014
The Gifted and Talented/Advanced Placement Program for the Cabot School District was recently awarded the 2014 Program of the Year honor for districts with 3,000 or more students.
This award was given by the Governor's Advisory Council for the Education for Gifted and Talented Children on February 6th, 2014. Cabot had previously been awarded this honor in the 2008-2009 school year.
To be considered for this award, applicants must complete a lengthy application which describes in detail the history of the program, ways in which the AR standards for G/T and AP are met and exceeded, as well as discussing the innovations of the program.
Each program is evaluated by the council members, and then a winner and certificate of merit recipient are chosen.
Cabot Public Schools and the G/T and AP program are extremely honored to be recognized for this award. We are very proud of our students, staff, administration, and community members who made this award possible.
