Cabot Schools will be open on Monday, January 20th

January 10, 2014

The approved school calendar designates Monday, January 20th, as a holiday for the Cabot School District.

The district has missed three instructional days due to inclement weather.

Considering it is still relatively early in the winter and the potential for additional inclement weather exists, our personnel policy committee and school board have agreed to designate Monday, January 20th, a regular school day.

We believe that the day would be more effectively utilized as an instructional day at this time rather than the possibility of having class in mid-June.

We realize that patrons may have made plans for the 20th based on the federal holiday and we will certainly accommodate those families.

Parents should notify the building administrator via phone or email by Tuesday, January 14th, if their student has an appointment or previously scheduled obligation on January 20th that has already been confirmed.

Building administrators will allow your student to be excused and the absence will NOT count toward the exemption policy.

A note with this information will be distributed to students in grades K-9 on Monday.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child's building administrator or any district administrator.
