Security Enhancements Made at Cabot Schools
April 10, 2013
Safety will always be a top priority for the Cabot School District.
In an effort to maintain a safe environment for our students and staff, district administrators met with local law enforcement agencies and emergency responders earlier this semester to evaluate emergency procedures. District faculty and staff were also given the opportunity to provide feedback during emergency drills held at each location.
One of the major outcomes of these meetings was the priority to change all classroom door hardware so they can be locked with a key from inside the classrooms. Previously, a staff member needed to open the door to lock it from the outside, which was a security concern.
All classrooms have now been equipped with door hardware that can be locked without the teacher having to step out of the room.
