Cabot Public Schools Designated 1st Purple Star School District

November 19, 2020

Cabot Public Schools is proud to officially announce that we have been designated the 1st Purple Star School District in the state by the AR State Council of the Military Interstate Children’s Compact Commission for our commitment to supporting and serving military children and their families.

Our schools were also the 1st schools in the state to be designated Purple Star Schools

The district also recently received a special mention by the Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC) in a nationwide report on Purple Star School Designation Programs.

This report focused on four states including Arkansas. Cabot Public Schools earned an excellent review and our education team was recognized as a national leader when it comes to implementing the Purple Star School Designation Program.

Approximately 1,000 military children are enrolled in the Cabot School District. We appreciate the sacrifices our families make each and every day. The district is committed to serving students of our military heroes and supporting them both emotionally and academically.

The district has two dedicated Military Liaisons, Director of Student Services Michael Byrd and Director of Counseling Terena Woodruff, to provide any necessary support for our military families.

Our school counselors also serve as point of contact for our military families. They have been trained to specifically assist families in any situation military students may face including, constant relocation, enrollment, eligibility, graduation requirements, to dealing with a deployed parent.

If you are a military family and need assistance, please feel free to contact our Military Liaisons:
