Cabot Scholarship Foundation’s Roast & Toast Banquet: April 14, 2020

February 24, 2020

UPDATE: THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED

The Cabot Scholarship Foundation's Roast & Toast Banquet will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14th, in the Cabot Junior High North cafeteria. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

The event recognizes students who are receiving scholarships from the foundation. Last year, the foundation awarded close to 120 Cabot High School seniors with nearly $130,000 in scholarships! These scholarships were made possible thanks to community members, businesses, and some of our very own district employees who contribute money out of their paychecks every month to fund scholarships for students. In fact, district employees contributed to twenty scholarships last year.

This year's honoree for the Roast & Toast Banquet is Mrs. Donna Nash. Mrs. Nash is currently a Cabot School Board member. She was first elected to the board in 2011 and served as board president during the 2014-2015 school year. Mrs. Nash was then re-elected in 2016. Mrs. Nash was an educator for more than three decades before retiring in 1998. Mrs. Nash and her late husband Brooks Nash moved to Cabot in 1976. They have two grown children and three grandchildren.

Superintendent Dr. Thurman will be the event's emcee. CJHN Assistant Principal Mike Nash (Mrs. Nash's son) and CFA Oral Communications teacher Jane Balgavy will serve as the night's roasters.

If you would like to help the Cabot Scholarship Foundation raise scholarship money for Cabot High School seniors, you are invited to attend the Roast & Toast Banquet. Individual tickets are $30.00 per person and a table of eight is $240.00. Tickets may be purchased at the Cabot High School office or through board members.

Current board members include: Chairman John C. Thompson, Fred Campbell, Mike Verkler, Angela Wallace, Leann Carlisle, Renee Calhoun, Nina Butler, Sarah Hagge, and Nancy Feland Bard. Ex-officio members are Dr. Tony Thurman and Jayne Snyder.
