CHS Art Students Win Awards In Congressional Art Competition

Several Cabot High School students have won awards in the Congressional Art Competition. This annual competition, which is open to all Congressional Districts, allows students grades 9-12 to submit original paintings, drawings, collages, mixed media, computer-generated art, and photographs.
From the artwork collections, each district will select a winner. District winners will receive free airfare to attend the national reception in Washington D.C., where an overall winner will be selected.

As first place winners in their categories, Jaden Hendrix and Emily Guthro will have their work displayed in Congressman Rick Crawford's office in Jonesboro and will be recognized in a ceremony in the office.
Jaden's drawing, "My Best Friend" which was also selected as Best of Show, will hang for one year in the Cannon House Office Building tunnel used by congressional members and guests to travel between the Capitol and congressional office buildings. Jaden will attend a special ceremony in Washington, D.C. on June 24 at the installation of the artwork.
