Sharing Hope In Cabot - Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018

The Cabot School District has partnered with several organizations to help make Cabot a suicide-safer community.

“Sharing Hope In Cabot” will be held Tuesday, October 2nd, from 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at the Veterans Park Event Center at 508 N. Lincoln.

According to the Arkansas Department of Health, suicide is the leading cause of violent death in Arkansas. In 2017, 621 people died by suicide in Arkansas. The Arkansas Department of Health and partners want Arkansans to know there is help and hope.

At the “Sharing Hope in Cabot” event, expert panelists will be on hand to discuss ways to promote mental health and well-being among Cabot residents while working together to prevent suicide. Panelists include:

Lisa Hunt, M.Ed., LPC, Clinical Director of Springhill Programs and Emergency Services, Professional Counseling Associates

Mary Kay Meacham, Board Member, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention

Susie Reece, Executive Director, Suicide Prevention Allies, Garland County

Special guests include: Steven Blackwood, President, Alex Blackwood Foundation for Hope and Kari Walden Mrs. Greater Cabot School District

Moderator: Amanda Jaeger, THV 11 Little Rock

The event is free and open to the public.
