Arkansas National Guard Counselor of the Year
June 18, 2012
Cabot High School Counselor Julie Wilson was recognized this year as the 2011-2012 Arkansas National Guard Counselor of the Year, Central Arkansas Region!
This is the first year the Arkansas National Guard has given out this award but plans continues to award counselors all over the state of Arkansas each year for their dedication. (Pictured with Mrs. Wilson is SFC David Griffin, Recruiter for the Arkansas National Guard)
One of the many things that Mrs. Wilson did was she helped in the preparation of the Student Armed Forces Vocational Aptitude Battery (SASVAB) exam, which is required to join any branch of service. This exam is open to any junior student and the results from the exam helps dictate what job a person can do within the military.
Mrs. Wilson also allowed the recruiters to schedule the follow up Career Exploration with the students that took the SASVAB. The SASVAB group went on to say that the overall exam was one of the best ones Mrs. Wilson has ever done. The students were great and everything was well organized and ready to go.
Congratulations Mrs. Wilson on this prestigious honor!
