Northside Elementary Nominated as a COOL School

September 30, 2015

Hundreds of students, teachers and parents woke up bright and early recently to show KATV Channel 7 why they're so cool!

Northside was nominated as a COOL School by Northside's Math Interventionist Karen Goodman. KATV broadcast live from the school and featured Ms. Walden's alternative seating classroom as well as Ms. Mahoney's technology lab.

The technology lab is a place where chrome books, café tables, stools, pillows, and lounge style seating replaces traditional computers, desks and chairs.

In the alternative seating classroom, students are allowed to move throughout the day to various spots in the room.  For example, they have papasan chairs, rocking chairs, benches, pillows on the floor and some students even like to stand when they're doing their work.

Check out all the pictures and videos to see exactly why Northside Elementary is a COOL School.
