Rocket League Esports Team - Fall 2021 State Champions

March 16, 2022

Congratulations to the Cabot High School Esports team “Rocket League” for capturing their first state championship title!

The Rocket League team consists of students Dylan Koski, Ethan Caroll, Kyle Wolf, and Grant Walker. They won the AAA Rocket League Championship back in December by defeating Northside High School.

Rocket League State Champions

It was an exciting and sometimes stressful series that consisted of playing the best of seven throughout the playoffs. The game is best described as soccer, but with rocket-powered cars.

Since winning their first state championship title, Esports sponsor Robert Forster says they have seen a growing interest in the spring 2022 Esports season. They now have three AAA Rocket League teams. They also have one AAA League of Legends team and three AAA Madden teams.

Esports officially stands for electronic sports. The Arkansas Activities Association approved Esports as a high school sport in 2019. Just like other sports, players compete against other schools.

Some colleges also offer Esports scholarships. Cabot High School currently has one player with an offer to Southern Arkansas University!
