Also, a big congratulations to our award-winning conversion charter school the Cabot Panther Academy, formerly known as the Academic Center of Excellence (ACE)! The Arkansas Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) recently honored ACE as a School on the Move Towards Excellence for the 2021-2022 school year.
Despite the challenges of the pandemic, ACE increased their overall ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) school Index Score by 10.04 points, and their Weighted achievement by 30.08 points!
ACE was one of only two schools in the state to increase their overall ESSA Score by more than 10 points!
Congratulations to our amazing schools, leaders, and students!
Robotics Team Demonstration
Our Cabot Robotics Program was also recognized at the school board meeting. These students and their robots are impressive.
Mr. Trusty and Mr. Williams even got in on the action with a friendly Bot Battle! Cabot Robotics recently hosted its first robotics tournament of the year. It was a huge success and of course our teams were named Champions!
Career and Technical Education Programs
Career and Technical Education, or CTE Month, takes place every February. This campaign celebrates the value of CTE and the accomplishment of these programs across the nation. CTE prepares students for high-wage and high-demanding careers in many different fields.
Nicole Gatewood, Coordinator of C/T and Stem Innovation shared information about the program with board members. The mission of our program is to prepare CTE students for college and career success and provide real world learning experiences.
CTE is available for 7-12th grade students. Cabot High School offers 23 different pathways and over 85 CTE courses and labs. Our programs are so popular, more than 6,000 seats are filled in CTE classes in our district!
