Teachers Experience New Type of Professional Development
August 12, 2015
From exploring new Apps, meeting our school board members to saving money and posting videos and lessons online, teachers learned it all Wednesday.
Six-hundred teachers had the chance to choose from 190 sessions. This is part of the required professional development for teachers and this opportunity gave them a chance to choose from a variety of topics.
More than 120 presenters spoke on subjects including, Google, chromebooks, School Choice, Cabot Panther Foundation, finance, bullying, new education laws, athletes and academics, communication, broadcasting, charter schools, archery club, identifying drug paraphilia, new curriculum standards, Spanish, Japanese, French and even classes on how to handle stress.
This is the first time the Cabot School District has held this new type of professional development and teachers say they enjoyed learning about a variety of topics all in one day.
