How Cabot Public Schools Can Support Homeschooling Parents & Students
November 3, 2016
Parents have every right to homeschool their child if they believe that it is the best possible setting for them and our district supports the right to choose.
We also know that curriculum, especially as students reach grades 9 through 12, may be challenging to manage. The district wants you to know that if needed, we can provide you with an option.
Your child could receive a high school diploma without ever being on a regular campus. We provide the online curriculum, we provide a flexible schedule to meet your needs, and we provide certified teachers to help your student as much or as little as needed to ensure they succeed and graduate. In fact, with the flexible schedule, your child could even graduate early.
The answer to any homeschooling challenge could be ACE, the Academic Center of Excellence. ACE is our award-winning conversion charter school and is the ideal setting for students who reside in the Cabot School District. ACE is committed to quality learning with 21st century technology and will provide rigor, relevance and relationships for students who might not reach their maximum potential in the traditional classroom. There are some students who need a flexible learning environment and schedule, and ACE provides just that.
Students attend ACE just three days a week during a required window of time (8-11 or 12:15-3:15) for a total of nine hours per week. Our curriculum is self-paced, but teachers are here to help keep students on track and provide support as needed.
Our outstanding faculty and staff would love to provide you with a tour of the facility and an overview of our academic program.
If you're homeschooling your child and things are going well, we wish you the very best and let us know if we can ever provide any support. If you would like to consider what the Academic Center of Excellence could provide for you, we'd love to visit with you. Ultimately, it's doing what is best for every student regardless of where they receive their education.
