Cabot High School Senior National Essay Contest Winner

A Cabot High School senior has won a trip to Washington D.C. Grant Tarvin is the national winner of the JAG Essay Contest.

The JAG (Jobs for America's Graduates) program is a year-long class at Cabot High School and teaches many important life skills.

Tarvin was encouraged to enter the contest by his JAG instructor, Brenda Early.  His essay, “An Agriculture Career in your Community,” discussed Arkansas' thriving aquaculture industry.  It received the highest marks out of all the entries from across the U.S.  

For winning the essay contest, Tarvin receives an all-expense paid trip to this year's JAG annual student conference.  It begins November 20th and allows Tarvin to network with other students, tour the nation's capital and attend many career building and life skills workshops.
