Transportation Call Center Available Monday, August 24, 2020

The Cabot School District is once again opening up a call center to immediately help parents with transportation questions.

The Transportation Call Center will be available beginning Monday, August 24 at 3:00 p.m. The number for parents to call is 501-743-3531. District employees will be on stand-by to help answer questions about a child's bus transportation.

The Cabot School District Transportation Department handles close to 90 school bus routes and transports approximately 6,000 students every day. The call center will help alleviate the high volume of calls received each afternoon during the first few days of school.

Parents, before sending your child to the bus stop please do a health check on your child (temperature check and observation for any signs/symptoms listed below). Students need to stay home if symptoms are present. Contact your physician for guidance.

• Fever (temperature over 100.4) or chills
• Cough
• Shortness of breath
• Fatigue
• Muscle or body aches
• Headache
• New loss of taste or smell
• Sore throat
• Congestion or runny nose
• Nausea or vomiting
• Diarrhea 

Please also remember, all students Pre-K-12, are required to wear a face covering when riding school transportation. Students should also social distance when waiting at the bus stop.

Arrive at your bus stop 10-15 minutes before your scheduled pick up time Monday. Parents, remember due to traffic the first week of school, buses may be delayed. Afternoon buses can run 45 minutes to 1 hour late as students learn the procedures and routes.

Also keep in mind, transportation can be confusing for students on the first day of school, especially younger children. Many parents like to drop off their child on the first day, but your child may not know how they will be getting home. Please make sure you communicate to your student and school on whether they will be a car rider or bus rider on Monday afternoon.
