ACE & ACE-North Now Accepting Applications
June 6, 2017
If your student prefers a smaller learning environment, ACE and ACE-North may be the perfect solution.
The Academic Center of Excellence (ACE) is our award-winning conversion charter school offering virtual learning to students in grades 7th-12th. The mission of ACE is to increase the achievement of every student by providing anywhere, anytime learning in a non-traditional educational setting.
ACE utilizes a digital curriculum as well as project based and small group instruction. It is a perfect fit for students who work well in a self-directed environment and are highly motivated. With their assigned advisor, students and parents/guardians develop an individualized graduation plan.
The ACE program is housed at two separate locations. Each location serves students similarly, but each location is unique. These programs offer flexible schedules ranging from nine hours of required seat time per week at ACE to a full-time schedule at ACE-North.
Academic Center of Excellence (ACE)
The ACE campus opened in the fall of 2004 and is located on Hwy 321. ACE has the ability to serve approximately 200 students while maintaining a low student/teacher ratio.
Flexible scheduling is offered to meet the needs of a diverse group of students. Most students attend 3 days a week for 3 hours each day (8:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. or 12:15-3:15 p.m.). That's 9 hours a week. This allows students with other obligations to continue their education and to graduate.
One of the main components of ACE is that each student is assigned a grade level advisor. Our curriculum is self-paced, but advisors monitor their progress in digital courses and help students stay on track toward graduation.
ACE-North
ACE-North opened in August 2014 and is a satellite campus for students in grades 9th-12th. It serves a growing population, while also still maintaining a low student/teacher ratio.
Located on the Cabot High School campus, students at ACE-North are able to participate in the many electives/extra-curricular activities available at the high school while taking the majority of their classes through digital courses at the ACE-North building. Students are also guided with the help of advisors.
ACE-North students find it best to attend school a full day, with a regular class schedule, but again in a smaller environment.
Application Process
Students are accepted through an application process. Applications are available on the ACE website. Students and parents can also pick up applications at ACE, ACE-North, or at the Cabot High School Counseling Center.
*Summer Hours: M-Thurs, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., and Fridays 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
An interview for both parent/guardian and student will be scheduled once a completed application is received by the ACE office. During the interview process the appropriate campus, ACE or ACE-North, will be determined based on the needs of the student.
Our outstanding faculty and staff would love to provide you with a tour of the facility and an overview of our academic program. If you have any questions or would like to schedule a tour, call 501-743-3520.
